Hollywood Software Partners With Brenden Theatres To Offer Film Management Software For Exhibitors Via The Internet

System used by major exhibitors now available to small and mid-size theatres

Hollywood Software, Inc., the premier provider of entertainment industry software applications, announces a major partnership with Brenden Theatres to offer its Exhibition Management System, EMS, via an Internet-based ASP (Application Service Provider) service. Hollywood Software’s newest ASP offering is designed to provide its state-of-the-art EMS management software to exhibitors of every size, while virtually eliminating the need to maintain a costly MIS organization. Brenden Theatres, which currently operates 64 screens in Northern California, will pilot the program.

Exhibitor Management System (EMS/ASP)

Hollywood Software’s EMS system will be the primary operating tool for Brenden’s corporate management to book films into all of its theatres, retrieve and analyze box office and concession activities, record financial information and negotiate film settlements with distributors. Also, EMS will automate the time-consuming process of sending and receiving booking and box office information by linking directly with other software systems, such as TDS2000, Hollywood Software’s industry-leading theatrical distributor system, which is currently used by 3 major studios and 10 other film companies.

“The EMS system with the ASP service option is a very important component in Hollywood Software’s strategy of creating a platform of software solutions to automate the distribution and exhibition of feature films. While the EMS ASP service can provide an alternative for larger exhibitors who are seeking to reduce their internal MIS costs, it will be an invaluable tool for the hundreds of small and mid-size operators struggling to analyze and control their businesses without the benefit of highly skilled MIS resources. Also, by extending our circle of automation to the small and mid-size operators, our industry will take a giant leap forward as distributors and exhibitors will now have access to performance data from approximately 20% of the market that has previously never been collected. EMS/ASP solidifies our entree into the U.S. exhibition market, and together with the other online initiatives provided through our industry portal TheatricalDistribution.com, will demonstrate that the appropriate technology is finally available to take this connected business community to the next level. Through the guidance of respected industry veterans, such as John Brenden and Don Farrar at Brenden Theatres, as well as our recently announced partnership with Pacific Theatres and other partners, I am certain that the EMS/ASP Service will prove to be a major asset as the exhibition industry continues to rebound,“ says Hollywood Software’s CEO David Gajda.

“Brenden Theatres has been actively searching for a cost-effective solution to manage booking and film settlements. It seems that the few software vendors offering something in this area only concentrate on the needs of large customers with large budgets, so we are especially pleased that Hollywood Software’s new ASP service allows all exhibitors, regardless to size, to access this very powerful business application with direct links to multiple distributors for an extremely manageable fee,” said Lee Craner, Brenden Theatres’ Chief Financial Officer.
