Hollywood Software Expands Internet Services To Include State-of-the-Art Exhibition Management Software

Hollywood Software, Inc., the premier provider of entertainment industry software applications, announces that Brenden Theatres, Madstone Theaters LLC and Paul Silk Film Buying have adopted a new software service that enables theatre owners and film buyers to use the company’s state-of-the-art Exhibition Management System, EMS, via the Internet. Hollywood Software’s newest ASP (Application Service Provider) offering is designed to make the EMS management software available to exhibitors of every size. Brenden Theatres operates 5 cinemas with 78 screens in Northern California and Nevada, Madstone Theatres DDN is in the process of opening 7 theatres with 43 screens throughout the U.S. and Paul Silk Film Buying represents 25 theatres with 135 screens throughout the Midwest.

Exhibitor Management System (EMS/ASP)

Hollywood’s powerful Exhibitor Management System provides the tools to centrally manage all key elements of film exhibition, including booking and scheduling films, auditing, consolidating and analyzing box office and concession data, recording financial information and negotiating and paying film settlements with distributors. ASP customers will use the software via a secure internet connection to Hollywood Software’s state-of-the-art data center. EMS will interface with any ticketing, financial and other core operating systems and automate the time-consuming process of gathering, organizing, analyzing and reporting theatre information. EMS is also available to customers on a license-basis.

“The EMS system with the ASP service option is a very important component in Hollywood Software’s strategy of automating the business of distributing and exhibiting feature films. While the EMS ASP service will also provide an alternative for larger exhibitors seeking to leverage internal MIS resources, it will be an invaluable solution for the hundreds of small and mid-size operators struggling to analyze and control their businesses without the benefit of sophisticated software tools. Working with Brenden, Madstone and Paul Silk has provided a fantastic opportunity to understand and address the wide spectrum of needs of various smaller exhibitors and film buyers who have traditionally been underserved by technology. Along with our continued support of larger licensed customers, such as Pacific Theatres, EMS/ASP solidifies our commitment to the entire U.S. exhibition market, and together with the other online initiatives provided through our industry portal TheatricalDistribution.com, will demonstrate that the appropriate technology is finally available to take this connected business community to the next level. Through the guidance of respected industry veterans, such as John Brenden and Don Farrar at Brenden Theatres, Jim Sheehan at Madstone Theaters DDN and Paul Silk, I am certain that the EMS/ASP Service will prove to be a major asset as the exhibition industry continues to rebound,“ says Hollywood Software’s CEO David Gajda.

“Brenden Theatres has been actively searching for a cost-effective solution to manage booking and film settlements. It seems that the few software vendors offering something in this area only concentrate on the needs of large customers with large budgets, so we are especially pleased that Hollywood Software’s new ASP service allows all exhibitors, regardless to size, to access this very powerful business application with direct links to multiple distributors for an extremely manageable fee,” said Lee Craner, Brenden Theatres’ Chief Financial Officer. “EMS gives us all of the tools we will ever need to manage and grow our our nationwide theater circuit“ said James Sheehan, President of Madstone Theaters LLC.
